Ebook publishing with PublishGreen.com
In June 2010, Hillcrest Publishing Group will launch our ebook publishing division, www.PublishGreen.com. PublishGreen.com helps authors and publishers convert their manuscripts and completed books into several ebook formats, including .mobi (for Kindle) and .epub (for Sony Reader, The Nook, and Apple's iPad). Unlike other ebook converting services, the author / publisher doesn't have to do any prep work to get the manuscript ready for conversion. In fact, PublishGreen.com can easily convert PDFs of a book's interior.
All formats created by PublishGreen.com for an author, will be owned by that author or publisher. The author or publisher, may choose to have PublishGreen.com distribute their book globally or the author or publisher can distribute their book on their own. If PublishGreen.com handles all aspects of distribution (including payment, collection, etc.) for a 10% fee of the net sales price (the price paid to PublishGreen after the retailers and/or third-party distributor's revenue from each sale). In this scenario the author or publisher earns 90%. The second option is that the author or publisher takes all files created by PublishGreen.com and the author or publisher handles the electronic distribution on their own. In this case, PublishGreen.com is not paid the 10%.
